In 2011 Lawrence Tech contracted UHS to design and develop a new student housing complex on property located just north of the existing university housing north building. The building is designed using a “pod” concept where student sleeping rooms share common living/lounge spaces, restrooms, and a kitchenette. Each pod will have its own common lounge with fireplace and kitchenette spaces with appliances. The building is designed to encourage students to be out of their rooms with space for interaction and collaboration. Building common areas include a lobby lounge, cafe/retail space, fitness rooms, laundry, game rooms, and conference space.
